-I’m an anxious, fearful type, or let’s say, I have a bad temper.
But let’s ask ourselves for a moment, who is it, who makes these definitions? My self! He defines myself, he would like everything under control, the self defines, but in reality, the self is the deepest part of our personality, it is the center of opposites, in the sense that psychic opposites exist or inhabit, the good, the bad, the light, the shadow, so we should know that, we are several things at the same time, it is as if we were wearing various masks.
The thing that appears is what appears to the rational mind but in reality we do not know what we are in the night, if we only see the skin, the surface.
Therefore we should stop defining ourselves; if we stop defining ourselves, we can truly begin to know each other. None of us is what appears to himself and to others, accepting contradictions, because creativity arises precisely from the integration of opposites, it is a push, the unconscious that shows us the way to change and we must not be afraid to listen. This call of the inner Demon, as Socrates would say, so to play at being a new character, we can help ourselves.
First of all, with the disguise, wearing a mask, we can enter a new person but beware there are different types of masks, masks that over time can become heavy, can become narrow and oppressive, because they are armor that takes our breath away. And then there are the good masks, the therapeutic masks, which become the tool to experiment with joy and lightness, characters. These are called the masks of flexibility. Let’s start with this exercise: “I am not just what you see but a multitude of other fantastic opportunities”.
